Starting April 2nd, 2019 pricing increases on G Suite Basic and Business

I received an email from Google’s G Suite Team about 2 hours ago (when I originally wrote this yesterday) regarding pricing increases to G Suite Basic and Business editions. Pricing will increase from $5/user/month to $6/user/month on the Basic edition, while pricing will increase from $10/user/month to $12/user/month on Business Edition. Pricing of Enterprise editions will remain unchanged.

We’re in the process of notifying all of our G Suite customers of the change, and will update our reseller pricing as soon as we know our new rates.

Hello Partner,

We’re writing to inform you that on April 2, 2019, the list price of G Suite Basic edition will increase from $5 USD to $6 USD per user per month, and the list price of G Suite Business edition will increase from $10 USD to $12 USD per user per month (or the local currency equivalent where applicable). These increases will apply globally with local market adjustments and limited time discounts for certain regions.

These changes will not impact current contracts or any renewal events prior to April 2, 2019.

The price of G Suite Enterprise edition will remain the same.

Why are you increasing prices?

We introduced the original version of G Suite, including Gmail and Google Calendar, more than 10 years ago. Since then, we’ve added more than a dozen new G Suite services, including real-time collaboration (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and flexible storage (Drive), powerful video conferencing (Hangouts Meet), secure team messaging (Hangouts Chat) and enterprise-grade search capabilities (Cloud Search). We’ve also infused our products with advanced artificial intelligence to make it easier to respond to emailsgather insights from data and protect against phishing attacks before they happen.

To keep pace with the value that G Suite provides to customers, we’re increasing the list prices of the G Suite Basic and Business editions starting April 2, 2019.

[IMPORTANT] What do I need to do?

Following our announcement on the G Suite Updates blog, please contact any affected customers and discuss how this change will impact their pricing. For G Suite Basic or Business edition customers on the Flexible Plan, the new list prices will go into effect on April 2, 2019. For customers on the Annual Plan, the new prices will go into effect the first time their plan renews on or after April 2, 2019.

Google will not reach out to these customers proactively. You may reference the G Suite Updates blog announcement in your communications.

You can prepare for these customer discussions and learn about operational details by carefully reading these FAQs. You’re also invited to join the G Suite team for a YouTube Live event on February 5, 2019, to learn more about the new pricing.

Sincerely,

The G Suite Team
